spring break

one of the little guys i took to homespun today.blog.2It’s been a beautiful sunny spring break! I have played with clay….more specifically,  played with glaze… almost every day. But today was delivery, checking out a new business (Neat-o, opening April 12 in Broad Ripple), and gathering supplies. I did a little shopping at Homespun Modern Handmade. While making my delivery, I had lunch at Paradise Bakery. It has been a very chocolate-y day (see instagram feed)!

first clay project of the year

little pinch pot bird’s nests with eggs, flowers and possibly worms. this is a review lesson for first graders. the students already know how to make a pinch pot…now they are learning how to score and slip details onto it. they also re-learn where clay comes from, the 3 phases of clay, how hot a kiln will get and how clay is functional art. it is my favorite time of year!
